A school was founded within 1949 under the title United Baptist Bible How to videos School (UBBTS), & served when two the secondary school and a Bible school. All over 2 decades, a focus of the school bit by bit shifted toward post-secondary computer software. Within 1968, UBBTS became a Bible & Junior Christian Liberal Arts College, & inside 1970 the name was changed to Atlantic Baptist College (ABC). a sustained campaign to expand the school's faculty & improve a level of education resulted around ABC existence entity to grant to the full Bachelor of Arts degrees in the early 1980s. Its campus at this instance was placed along a Salisbury Road, west of Moncton's central downtown.

the institution moved to a newly campus constructed on the Gorge Road, n of the central downtown, inside 1996. the title was besides changed to Atlantic Baptist University, a reflection of expanded student enrollment & academic accreditation. ABU remains a merely English university around Future Brunswick's 2nd big, & fastest growing city.
